"You Are What You Eat" Applies Perfectly to Mushroom Extracts and Herbal Teas

We've all heard the saying "You are what you eat", but have you also heard "you are what you eat, eats". This saying is referring to the fact that the quality of the food we eat completely depends on the way it was grown or raised, applying to both plants and animals.

Well, this saying also applies perfect to mushroom extracts and herbal teas. Just because we are consuming a health supplement, does not mean it necessarily is providing us with plentiful nutrients.

Many supplements, teas, coffee and other "healthy" products are composed of low-quality ingredients that are oftentimes just a waste of money. So it's important to know how your products are produced and where the ingredients come from.

Where Mushrooms Come From

 Wild Reishi mushrooms

In the wild, mushrooms are usually found on dead and decaying organic matter, such as trees or other dead plants.

However, many mushrooms used for supplements are grown in labs on sterilized rice or oats, not in natural conditions with access to a variety of nutrients.

The mushrooms with the most nutrients and health benefits are those that are grown under natural conditions, either sourced from the wild or grown in greenhouses on logs or sawdust.

At Steep Into It, all of the mushroom we use for our extracts are grown under these conditions. We never use lab-grown mushrooms or mycelium. This is the only way that we can guarantee high levels of nutrients in our products.

How Herbs and Tea are Grown

When it comes to the herbs and teas we use for all of our blends, the same principles apply. All of the ingredients that we use are grown organically and are non-gmo, meaning that they are not grown with pesticides, herbicides or artificial fertilizers.

This not only protects you from ingesting any chemicals, but it also ensure the highest levels of nutrients and flavor profiles. Poor grown ingredients simply don't look, taste or feel good.

Also, many herbal and standard teas you can find in the grocery store are packed in tea bags that are made of plastic or are held together using adhesives that get into your tea once steeped in hot water.

At Steep Into It, we only use tea bags that are 100% plant-based and biodegradable, so you don't have to worry about ingesting any chemicals.

When it comes to what we put in our bodies, knowing the source is critically important. At Steep Into It, you can always trust us to only provide the highest-quality ingredients, plain and simple!
